Rumtse to Tsomoriri Lake
The trekking adventure of Rumtse to Tsomoriri Lake will start from Rumtse village that is 70 km away from Leh on the way to Leh- Manali highway. This 10 nights and 11 days trek gives you the opportunity to interact with Tibetan nomads settlers, opportunity to explore Tsomoriri Lake and also more chance to watch wild animals and wild birds of Ladakh. There are around eight passes in this trek and the highest pass is Kyamayuru La (5400m) in altitude, because of higher altitude you need to acclimatize properly before doing this trek.

Day 1: Leh Day 2: Leh Day 3: Leh- Rumtse- Kyamar Day 4: Kyamar - Tisaling The third pass is Shibuk La (4900 m). From the top of the pass, we have an incredible view of the surrounding mountains and Tsokar Lake. It’s approximately a 4 hrs walk to the Tsokar Lake. Overnight stay will be at Ponganagu. Day : 6 Ponganagu – Nuruchan We follow the jeep road towards Tsokar Lake. Along the salty shores of the lake, we have the opportunity to see some of the endangered migratory birds of the world. We walk straight to the right of the lake, until we reach Nuruchan. Day : 7 Nuruchan- Gyama Barma After breakfast we shall continue our tour and gradually ascends towards Horlam Kongka La (4900 m). From the pass an easy descends to Rajungkaru, we will have the opportunity to encounter several Tibetan nomad settlers. We will continue to ascend towards Kyamayuru La (5410 m). From the pass we descend gradually to the valley towards our campsite at Gyamar Barma (5150 m). Night temperature can be freezing due to high altitude campsite. Day : 8 Gyama Barma – Gyamar After breakfast, we head to our next pass, Kartse La (5300 m). We then slowly ascending towards Gyamar la and enjoy beautiful views of snow-capped mountains. The trail descends down towards the valley of Gyamar. Day : 9 Gyamar – Korzok Day : 10 Korzok – Leh Day 11
